Well it’s that time of year again (subject to the weather of course). Antifouling time! It’s a bind and most boat owners really don’t enjoy it but let’s face it, it has to be done! However, do you struggle to work out which antifouling to buy? You’re not alone if you do.
Thankfully, Marine Supplies Direct has done a lot of research this year to assess what antifoul works well and where and we’ve got two brands that we champion. Teamac (previously Precision) and Seajet. The latter of which consistently scores highly for the ability to deal with fouling in all kinds of waters throughout the UK.
One great article that’s a little old now but still holds a lot of weight is the PBO Great Antifouling Showdown. This article set-up a fairly comprehensive antifoul comparision using all the main paints and brands, but in various different waters throughout the UK. Interestingly, Seajet Shogun 33 as a brand came out on top and scored better than many other paints (International and Hempel included). So this year, we’re championing that brand in the 2.5l tins.
If you’re looking for antifouling, you can see our full range on the main website under antifouling and don’t forget to take a look at our epoxy fillers if you need repairs!
