After use (especially in salt water) always rinse the knife with abundant water sweet water to insure that every bit of salt has been removed from the blade dry the blade and try not to hurt yourself  we advise you to lubricate with a little silicon spray or similar it is important to always maintain and sharpen the blade  because with an un-sharpened blade it requires an greater force and to re sharpen the blade with a very consumed edge is a complicated operation to carry out alone
